Case Studies

Weston College

The People, Culture and Wellbeing Quality Mark, a national award which recognises Weston College as being at the forefront of implementing person-centred initiatives that increase productivity by developing skillsets and supporting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Weston College was the first education institution to achieve this! This accreditation was presented on stage to the College’s Assistant Principal Ben Knocks and Caroline Pringle, the College’s HR Director.

At the two year review stage (May 2024) this is what Ben and Caroline had to say "The College was exceptionally pleased of the outcome from the rigorous assessment of the quality mark and has been key in further developing what we do for the wellbeing of staff, students and the overall culture of the organisation.
The assessment is supportive and well structured, which allowed us to build an evidence base that effortlessly celebrates what we do, but also identified our own areas for development. The subsequent report from AAL has proved as a guiding document for us over the last 24 months and has seen us implement a number of new initiatives to meet the recommendations.
In the last 24 months, the College has further invested in this key area of work and has seen some important and impactful outcomes that further improves the wellbeing of staff and students."

Science Council

“It is very important to the Science Council to focus on staff wellbeing, it is not only the right thing to do as a mark of recognition, respect and support for team members, but it also brings out the best in us. I am delighted that we have received the quality mark, as a shared acknowledgement of our approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement in how we work together in a supportive and successful way. The Science Council is proud to have been recognised for its commitment to staff wellbeing and will strive to adapt and improve based on their future needs.”
